Year 1 had a WOW MORNING!

Year 1 came into school all ready and prepared for a cold adventure outside to help Little Red Riding Hood find her way through the forest. The children used directional and locational language and a compass to find their way around the field.

They then used their map skills knowledge from geography to find the human and physical features on the school grounds. All the children used their materials knowledge from their science lessons to build a cottage for Grandma. They had to work out which materials would be the strongest to use and predict if it will blow down or stay up.

It was wet and muddy but brilliant fun!
