Letter to parents who requested a school place
I draw your attention to the government guidance regarding the attendance of students at school during the current closure;
“…the government has asked parents to keep their children at home, wherever possible, and asked schools to remain open only for those children who absolutely need to attend.”
It is important to underline that schools, colleges and other educational establishments remain safe places for children. But the fewer children making the journey to school, and the fewer children in educational settings, the lower the risk that the virus can spread and infect vulnerable individuals in wider society.
Schools are, therefore, being asked to continue to provide care for a limited number of children - children who are vulnerable and children whose parents are critical to the Covid-19 response and cannot be safely cared for at home.”
Please take this very important guidance into account when considering the remainder of this information.
As you have qualified to be able to send your child to school during this time of national closure, I am now able to clarify the arrangements that we have made.
In the first instance we have made provision for the two week period leading up to the Easter break. We will be in touch with you during this time to discuss any possible arrangements for the Easter holidays.
For the next fortnight the following are in place;
Pupils will need to be in school during normal hours, arriving for 8.45am and leaving at 3.15pm or 3.20pm (KS1/2 normal times).
- Uniform will not be required.
- Pupils will be supervised and provided with a range of activities.
- Pupils will be given breaks at 11am and 12.30pm.
- A hot meal will be provided by our catering provision, EasyLunch.
Following TKAT guidance (this may change) and for safeguarding reasons we are insisting that pupils attending are with us for the full school day and from Monday to Friday as normal. These are the arrangements for the first two weeks and we will be in touch again about the next two weeks.
Could you please provide me with the following information as soon as possible
- Confirm if you still wish your child to attend school during the closure.
- If they require school provided food.
Please respond to email@example.com as soon as possible.
If you have any questions about the provision please do not hesitate to contact me via firstname.lastname@example.org.
Many thanks for your support at this very challenging time.
